What is the Xbook photobook? The Xbook Photobooks
are modern day digital albums. They are a quality way to produce a new
age photo album. Xbook photobook albums allow you to design a
personalised photobook to a professional standard. Xbook offers a
variety of albums, in a range of sizes, thicknesses and binding
techniques to suit your every need.
How many pages make up an Xbook photobook ? The Xbook photobooks
offer a wide range of album thicknesses depending on several
parameters, how much you wish to spend on your Xbook album as well as
what binding option you choose to go with. The internal page numbers
range from a minimum of 16 (8 sheets) to a maximum of 80 (40 sheets).
Hardcover albums start at 32 pages and go all the way through to 80
pages. Stitch bound albums range between 16 and 40 pages, while the
spiral bound albums offer anything between 16 to 80 pages.
How many photos can I fit in my Xbook album? The Xbook photo books
offer a wide range of album sizes and thicknesses for you to choose
from. You can include as little as one image per page or as many as
many as 24 images per page on the portrait album. If you wish, you may choose to have no images at all on certain pages, and allow for text only.
How are the albums printed? The
albums are printed on the latest digital printing press, which utilizes
liquid inks to carefully defined production standards, to assure our
clients receive only the best quality products. The combination of the
high quality inks and paper stock used with this top of the range
printing press is guaranteed to last for an extended period of time,
when treated properly.
What sort of paper do you use? For
the album pages we use acid-free, satin finish paper stock ( non gloss
) that is the result of a lengthy analysis of different paper
alternatives to bring your photos to life in the best way. For the
hardcover books the cardboard case is laminated with your own
personalized image, also printed on the same stock as all the internal
pages, with the addition of an over-laminate for protection. For the
spiral and stitch bound books the cover page is printed on a 300 gsm
paper from the same stock, and is also protected with an overlaminate.
How are the albums bound? For
the hardcover albums we use a binding technique which allows you to
present and enjoy your album in the best possible way. For the spiral
bound albums we use an industrial strength silver wire that matches the
thickness of each and every specific album. For the stitch bound albums
we use the industry standard stitching technique of two industrial
staple pins right through the spine of the album.
What are my options for the covers? Xbook photo books allows you to design and produce not only your very own photo album,
but also its cover. You can choose from several optional methods to
design your cover page. Generally speaking, it could be completely
personalised by you inserting your own image to be used on the entire
cover. You may choose to take advantage of the many professionally
designed covers we have made available within the software ( see
software section for details) and simply add your chosen photo/s in the
corresponding places. Alternatively you can choose to simply have a
certain colour on your cover without a personalised image at all.
